The Design Director will play a pivotal role in centralizing and elevating Hexclad’s design efforts across all channels. This individual will bring cohesion to our visual identity, lead the design team, and ensure the consistent application of our brand aesthetic across paid media, out-of-home campaigns, packaging, email/SMS, and emerging channels. As our Director of Design, you will focus on maintaining brand consistency and creativity across touchpoints, ensuring all designs engage, inspire, and align with our brand’s voice and standards. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Build, manage, and mentor a growing team of in-house designers, fostering professional development and collaboration.
Work closely with freelance designers and agencies to scale resources as needed.
Brand Development:
Overhaul and finalize Hexclad’s brand guidelines, ensuring they reflect the company’s current aesthetic and strategic vision.
Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership in shaping Hexclad’s visual identity.
Creative Execution:
Oversee and contribute to the creation of high-performing designs for paid media, ensuring assets align with platform-specific best practices (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
Develop cohesive designs for out-of-home campaigns, email/SMS, packaging, and digital experiences.
Strategic Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Product, Sales, and Digital to align on campaign objectives, target audience insights, and creative solutions.
Operational Excellence:
Centralize design resources under a unified team structure, improving efficiency and cohesion.
Leverage project management support to streamline workflows and meet deadlines for high-volume deliverables.
Qualifications
8+ years design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing design across multiple channels.
Proven experience in digital and print design, social media content, paid media, and omnichannel marketing.
Strong portfolio showcasing creative leadership and execution across diverse mediums (digital, social, out-of-home, packaging, etc.).
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with digital tools such as Figma or Sketch.
Strong understanding of branding, typography, and visual storytelling.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Background in e-commerce brands like Huckberry, Patagonia, or similar is a plus.
Strong understanding of brand-building fundamentals, including storytelling and aesthetic development.
Experience working with celebrity partnerships or high-profile campaigns (e.g., Gordon Ramsay collaborations).
Knowledge of global markets and designing for international audiences.
Passion for food and cooking! Cooking skills and/or experience in the culinary industry are a bonus.
