Our Story
Royal Braun's founder, Ben Duhl, launched the business combining two professional passions: creative production and scouting for talent.
Ben began in theater before shifting to commercial production during the rise of digital video, pioneering “viral” projects for brands ranging from Comme des Garçons to Unilever. A pivotal engagement assembling a creative agency for Nike Sportswear sharpened his matchmaking instincts—bridging the gap between creative talent and brand needs.
That led him into recruiting for top creative companies, from boutique agencies like Partners & Spade and Lloyd & Co. to advertising heavyweights like 72 & Sunny and BBH LA, placing talent aligned with the highest creative standards.
As digital reshaped media, he built teams for Turner’s Super Deluxe, Vice, CNN Digital, Popsugar, Refinery29, and The New York Times’ T Brand Studio, recruiting creative and strategic talent to support new storytelling models.
Helping brands operate more like publishers, he transitioned to the DTC space, assembling creative and marketing teams for a popular early mover in the athleisure fashion space to Zappos’ LA studio and Sony TV’s brand studio.
As platforms evolve, storytelling adapts, and the lines between creative and marketing continue to blur, Ben helps brands and media companies find and attract talent that keeps them at the forefront.
A “clothes guy” at heart, Ben is based in LA, runs on the fire roads of Ojai, and enjoys any movie or show that opens at Langley, Quantico, or the U.S. Embassy in London.
